What does single track riding and kerosene oil have in common.....why Grass Lice of course and the accompanying photo below has nothing to do with the admiring of legs but the desparation of these young men trying to determine how far north the lice had migrated.

Nothing like a tough ride in the hills above Oracabessa, St Mary and then having to wash in kerosene bought from the local grocery store.

There was talk of being thrown out of the house if one ever brought home those little critters.

Single track Mountain Biking will take you through cow pastures, orange groves, small communities and some breathtaking views will always appear along the way.

The actual ride started at James Bond Beach and we quickly ascended into the hills.

Wayne Lee and his friend Andy (both excellent riders) from Ocho Rios were gracious hosts and this was clearly their romping ground as they made sure we were safe giving tips and advice throughout the ride.

It was really a sweet ride and at times David and I found ourselves in deep deep dialogue justifying why we were the only ones walking over a certain hill and the benefits of getting a total workout by utilizing other muscles through walking. The guys don't know that this was by design and is our secret weapon for them.....right... (smile)

For our return and end to the fifteen mile ride Peter "Don P" Matalon set the stage with a blistering pace that would rival some Road Bikers.

Other members of the flock were Stephan "The Flying Dutch Man" Szepesi, Peter "F1000" Ferguson, Johnny "Big Gear" Matalon, Jim "Jimbo" Esliger and David "Granny Gear " Levy.

No Ladies????

Thanks again to Wayne and Andy.
Till the next ride stay safe all.
